PDF Scanner - Bugrid
Privacy Policy
Effective date: [DD Month YYYY] · Last updated: [DD Month YYYY]
PDF Scanner - Bugrid (the “App”) is provided by Bugrid Cybersecurity Services SRL (“Bugrid”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Information accessed and processed
The App accesses camera images and files you choose only to scan, process and create PDF documents. Any supported text recognition (OCR) takes place on your device. We do not receive or inspect your scans, extracted text, PDFs or their contents.
The App does not require an account and does not collect names, email addresses, contact lists, location, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, usage analytics or crash reports. It does not include advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs that collect user data.
2. Permissions
- Camera: used when you choose to capture a document.
- Selected photos and files: used when you choose to import an image or document.
- Saving files: used to save PDFs to your device or a destination you select, using Android’s available file-access mechanisms.
Where Android requires permission, the App requests it before access. You can deny or revoke permissions in Android settings; the related feature may then be unavailable.
3. Storage, retention and deletion
Scans, PDFs and local settings remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them, or your device’s backup settings copy them to a backup service. Bugrid operates no server-side repository of your documents or personal information.
You control how long you keep saved documents. Delete exported files using your device’s file manager. Clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling it removes its app-private local data; files exported to shared storage, other apps or cloud services may remain and must be deleted separately. Backup copies are managed through your backup provider.
4. Sharing and external services
We do not sell, rent or automatically disclose your documents or personal information to third parties. If you choose to share or export a document, the selected recipient, app or storage provider receives that document and handles it under its own privacy policy. Files may contain personal information, so review them before sharing.
Google Play, Android and any backup services you enable may process information independently under their own policies. This policy describes the App’s practices, not those independent services.
5. Security
The App uses Android’s application sandbox and permission controls for app-private data. Exported files are subject to the protections of their destination. Keep your device updated, use a screen lock and choose sharing destinations carefully. No device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
6. Contacting us and your privacy choices
If you voluntarily contact us outside the App, we receive the contact information and message you provide. We use that information only to respond and resolve your request, and retain it only as long as needed for that purpose or applicable legal obligations. Please do not send scanned documents or sensitive information unless necessary.
For personal information provided through support, you may request access, correction or deletion, and exercise other rights available under applicable law by contacting us. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We cannot access or remotely delete documents stored only on your device or with providers you selected.
7. Children’s privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support, contact us so we can address the request and delete the information where appropriate.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the App or applicable requirements. Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. If a change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it before the relevant processing begins.
